My name is Ricky Lipinski, and I’m a professional saxophonist based in the Portsmouth/Dover area, proudly serving music-loving clients throughout New England and beyond. For more than a decade, I’ve been performing at a variety of events and venues, and I would love to set the musical tone for your next event too!
 

My passion for playing the saxophone began in the 5 th grade, when I first joined the elementary school band. During my high school years, I was chosen lead alto sax in both the Jazz Band and the Concert Band. That was my first taste of performing on
stage, standing up front before hundreds of people improvising on the fly. It was truly priceless experience, and definitely fueled my growing love of music. As a high schooler, I had the good fortune to learn the intricacies of the saxophone from our band
director, highly regarded saxophonist Bill Tiberio, and my highly accomplished private lesson teacher, Dr. Roger Eckers. I earned multiple honors at the All County and All State level, an affirmation of my technical abilities, but finding my true musical voice was a work in progress.

Fast forward to the University of Pittsburgh, where I graduated in 2022 magna cum laude with a Bachelor of Science degree. I also minored in music performance at Pitt, and was honored to be selected as lead alto saxophonist for the prestigious Pitt Jazz Ensemble for multiple years, also serving in a leadership role as its President. Together with a few friends, I joined the campus-based band, “Quiet Hours”, playing covers as well as some compelling (in my humble opinion!) original alternative rock/pop music. In 2022, The Pitt News named Quiet Hours "Best Band". We played countless house parties, a lot of bars/restaurants, and other small to medium venues in the Pittsburgh area. We even opened for Modern English, one of the most influential bands of the 1980s, best known for the hit “I Melt With You.”  That was an experience that I’ll never forget! A professional scientist job brought me to the Dover/Portsmouth area, where I’ve been devoting more and more time to my music career. I’ve been fortunate to book live performances at local bars and restaurants, wedding cocktail hours and wedding
receptions, as well as corporate events. In addition, most nights you can find me on TikTok live, where I’ve found an amazing, supportive community that encourages me to take my musical creativity and improvisation to the next level. With over 22,000 TikTok followers, and in excess of 3 million video views on that platform alone, interest in my music continues to take off! 

I now devote my full time to saxophone music, emphasizing live performances at weddings, small venues/restaurants, and corporate parties. I love working collaboratively with clients to craft the perfect musical atmosphere for their special
occasion. Known for my versatility, musicianship, improvisation, and polished stage presence (and dance floor presence), I’m dedicated to delivering the ideal soundtrack for any occasion.  Whether you seek high-energy intense dance floor music, or a smoother, sophisticated cocktail party atmosphere, or a quiet, classy dinner music set (or anything in between), I can deliver.
